Ocean Bosses

Ocean bosses come in two flavors: mini and main.

For every new, unique player that inflicts 1,000 damage, the boss gains +0.5% Damage Dealt, +0.5% loot potential, and additional HP.

Always go in teams of at least 2: 1 PvP-ready boat and 1 bossing boat. Take a screenshot of the boss bar showing XP contributions. Make sure you’re in the guild group party.

Mini bosses die fast but the approach is similar to the main boss.

Set your fishing codex to Strafe stance. Strafe provides a 56% damage bonus to a target not on your ship, as long as your ship is moving.

Set up hotkeys to strafe left and right.

Strafe hotkeys

Attack the boss while “dancing” back and forth to keep the strafe bonus active.

When the boss spawns adds and tentacles on the boat, switch to Run Through as a finisher and Skewer as the stance. Steer the boat so the boss is on your boat. The additional weapon specials and Skewer/Arc/Volt procs help with adds while you continue killing the boss.

Loot quickly. Keep an additional bag on you — put it on the deck of your ship and you can easily move it to your hold and set it as your loot bag. Do this from the corpse menu or by hotkey (hotkey is faster).

Loot from corpse

Dock as fast as possible and send the contents to the shipping crate to secure the loot.

Use the distribution chest to add players from the party. Only include people who contributed to the farming bar AND whoever did the boss.

Same as mini, with one difference: move to the other side of your boat for strafe and keep moving instead of putting the boss on your boat.
